Killing moss on a driveway.

I have several customers with block paving driveways..... I know, I know...... And the moss this year is terrible. In the past it's been patchy and I've scraped it out and applied domestic miss killer but this year it's back with boots on!What with all the new changes in chemicals and herbicides is there a commercial killer out there people would recommend. I got PA's so that's not a worry but I want rid of the bloody stuff, or at least reduce it for a season or two!Any ideas people? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Andy,

Two proven products - Algoclear & its stronger brother Algoclear PRO - both in 5L. Great coverage from the PRO and can be used on all hard surfaces without risk of damage or staining: tarmac, artificial grass, rendered/ painted walls etc...

Happy to discuss your needs and pricing...

      Algoclear Pro! Just do it!

  • I use MMC Pro about £20 ish for 5L. Does the job but doesn't last more than 1 season, good repeat business though.

    • Yup, that's what we use. MMC Pro.

  • I've used MMC and Algoclear. MMC doesn't go far at all but is vastly cheaper (sub £25). Algoclear was up towards the £90 mark inc delivery but it will go much further.

  • MMC pro, but you have to accept that whatever you use will need more applications on some sites. Once a year is optimistic at best, I'd sell it in as three treatments a year and hope that you could get away with two.

It's not only killing the moss, you then have dead moss! It's about treating to keep the moss at a minimum, so it never looks bad when you blitz it.

I'd always get my pressure washing guys in to clean a bad site first, then I'd start a regular treatment schedule so it never builds up again.

    • Morning, as Paul says, MMC will do a very good job of algae, grime & mould. It will also control moss but it no longer has this on its label due to some EU changes.

A new product which is gaining in popularity is New Way weed spray. It is an organic product which goes down well with customers & it also controls weeds. 5L covers 200m2.

Check it out on the link below, Trade Silver prices also apply. Get in touch for anyone wanting a Trade Silver log in.
