Keeping track of useful posts

One for Phil (or anyone else..) Is there another way of keeping track of useful posts, other than by searching using tags etc. Thinking along the lines of 'favourites' on Internet Explorer... There is so, so much useful information on this site, but it moves off the front page quickly and you can forget about and loose it.... Does anyone else know what I mean ?

  • Yes! I keep on refering back to this http://www.landscapejuicenetwork.com/forum/topics/van-storage-any-i...

as well as tring to find discussions on tools/machinery/products etc.

and a certain book everyone keeps recommending, which i have read before from the library, but i cannot remember the authors name. A guide to starting and operating a garden maintenance buisness, any help?

Book wise there's two - Paul Powers and Owen Price (a US book I got while working over there - gives an interesting view on the US market which is far in advance of ours - IMHO)

  • Cheers! Amazon'd it while its fresh in my mind.

A friend of mine that I used to work with, his parents moved over to Florida before I ever knew him and set up a landscape design and construction buisness specialising in huge water features, ponds (more like lakes etc.). This is on a huge scale and they also have a garden centre now to hold stock and just allow expansion I guess. My friend though says that it's all drying up abit over there though, in that area at least, and his parents are looking at moving back to england!
  • I have a LJN folder in my favourites list.

  • In case anyone wants to look for it Gary... do you mean this one by Owen Dell? - there's another edition on Amazon where you can 'look inside'

    Hi Gary

Yes, it's easy to do. Your browser will have a bookmark section and there are also other add-on's to organise your favourite content or you can save the page as an HTML link directly to your folders (probably the best way).

If you right-click on the page you wish to save, you will see a list. You can either save the page to your bookmarks (add to favourites) or you can select 'save link as' or 'save page as'.

If you select the 'save link as' option then you can create a folder on your computer and arrange and name as appropriate.

Yes, I did mean Owen Dell - sorry for any confusion.

Re: favorites - I kind of overlooked the obvious ;-), had it on my mind last night that the solution had to be within ljn, but in retrospect I answered my own question - thanks phil...

Just fed up trying to find that 'useful post you urgently..
