jointing compound staining dots on indian sandstone

Looking for advice i have been using jointing compound for a while now with no problems at all although the last one has left small dots off staining on the indian sandstone i am presuming its from small parts off the compound being left on the slab, is there any way to clean them up its only on a few of them ,or am i in a whole world off pain here!!!

I havent tried anything yet. any advice would be amazing thanks

    Its little bits of the rein usually. What jointing compound was it? 

    TBH the best thing for it is time and sun light.
