What have you used before? For high end job like travertine then an epoxy mortar would probably suit best. Personally i use rompox d1.
In general the main pointing options are standard mortar, pre-blended mortars like easy-point or flowpoint then polymeric sands like rompox easy, marshalls 365 etc then top end price wise are the epoxy mortars like Rompox D1 or gtfk vdw800
I've used Rompox easy and Jointex before had no problems like what simon said. The problem with Travertine and using a Jointing Grout is it might get caught in the holes of the Travertine paving so check whether it is pre filled. The D1 is more difficult to get hold of as its not as easy to sell as you have to mix it. The benefit is the customer has 3 colours to choose from and it takes a lot less time to lay down.
