  • Personally I'm getting more than a little tied of this being forced down our throats! So just how would James Wong like us to refer to "native" trees now this term is deemed no longer acceptable? When will the penny drop that this is type of rhetoric from the likes of BAME, BLM, LGBTQI etc is having an adverse effect on their intended outcome?

    • indigenous?

  • My view is that personally I think a lot of this stuff is blown well out of proportion, yes we have to adapt with the times but some things don't need to change!!!!

The debate started after an article he wrote for The Guardian and continued onto Twitter - he questioned why horticulture was not perceived as more political and took an (unexpected ?) turn after upsetting its readership and Twitter users. It has then been picked up many many news sources .....

Even in the garden, there’s bigotry to be found, says James Wong
  • the truth is there have been too many people of any and every race spreading around everywhere for years and introducing spanish bluebells, japanese knotweed, rhododendrons, american cray fish and the like

So gardening's what now!? I wish I could clam racist for everytime I've been treated bad.

As far as I'm concerned we are all slaves to the top 0.1% so maybe the trouble makers should start looking there! All the normal folk are happy going about there lives getting on with everyone.

Now I'm a white heterosexual male and I'm going to re-identify as a honey badger! Maybe I'll go see if I can get a job in a Chinese takeaway or a make-up counter or a polish shop! Ok maybe not a polish shop because if been told by Eastern Europeans many times that the English are lazy!
