Invasive grass

Hi all, Could anyone help identify this grass type and is there any possible way to remove it from a lawn without killing the lawn?

Thanks

Liam

  • If its green, feel free to simply mow it!

It looks like couch grass, if it has a long white rhizome type  root it almost certainly is. I would spot weed it out using a fork to lift the soil and grass up and then tease out the root and tamp back down. It will clump form making it easy to get out but it will leave a hole.
