Hi everyone!

I can from time to time be asking this question for a plant ID, but never before have I asked it in relation to hard landscaping..

New to it and hence my question:

I would like to match new paving slabs with clients' existing paving slabs and need them to be identified for me.. having taken a stab at it, might they be Indian sandstone?

I've attached a couple of photos.

I look forward to hearing from you!
With thanks

Judi.. :-)

  • They look like concrete to me, some painted and some not. Would need a closer picture.

  • the charcoal/grey/blue/black paving? if so yeah i would say they are a natural stone paving.. Maybe limestone in blue/black or azure.. or Maybe its natural slate although that has a lot more variation in colour and from what i can see there its fairly uniform.

The picture below is natural limestone (blue black or Azure) and is available from most building supplies i would have thought.. (Photo ripped from build base website) so i assume they stock it.

I can not tell if you would want calibrated or not.. or sawn etc with out investigating the area its self..

i don't believe that is factory produced paving so yeah have a shop around at the darker natural paving products and find the best match. also Bare in mind that paving fades over time so you will never ever find a perfect match.

  • Thanks Colin, I've attached a closer photo..

    Thanks very much

  • At a closer inspection i am going to say Natural Limestone in blue black or azure (depending on who you speak to).. sizes i can see 600x600 and all the rest are cuts or close to 600x300mm and looking at the edges i am going to say they are calibrated!!

  • Thanks very much Matt.
    Much appreciated info!
