A bit of good news if you like that sort of thing. After four miscarriages I am proud to announce that my wife is 13 weeks pregnant with our second child. My son is three and three months old now and is the light of my life, I could never imagine being without him.
Miscarriage is a terrible thing to go through especially when you have four in a row. The last two years have been an emotional roller coaster and hard work. You will know how hard on the body working in landscape industries can be - having to get in the mood for love is extremely hard after a hard days graft. Well we have finally managed it and i can't stress enough how much of a relief it is.
My wife and I are both forty so time was running out to produce a sibling for my son Ewan. Having gone through a terrible time with my parents both becoming severely disabled at the same time, I was in a very low state of mind and nearly self destructed with alcohol abuse. My wife (then girlfriend) saved me from that but I could never forget the misery my parents were going through. All I could see was death and despair.....until getting married and my son being born. I needed to see a future with new life instead of just death.
Well, after my father died from pneumonia in November (he was a quadriplegic for the last ten years of his life) I finally found some happiness as his misery was over. Every Sunday afternoon for the last ten years i picked up my dad from his nursing home and took him home to see my mum, his farming friends and generally see what the the local farmers were up to. I missed about five Sundays in ten years and i think it gave him something to live for.
I don't know if he has had anything to do with our turn of good luck (if you believe in such things) but it does seem heaven sent and goes to show that stress and despair doesn't do anything for your fertility!
Anyway to conclude, if you are reading this dad....THANKS. I will never forget you.
