Hi guys
I am brand new to this site so any advice welcome!
i am currently in process of setting my own garden maintenance business after my contract expired in December then badly breaking left arm playing football so been on sick since then back to nearly full fitness now so had plenty of time to shopping around for best deals and researching and analyzing best way and the best way to go about it and putting together a business plan etc

looking at leasing a van i think is best way and gives best image for business,
machinery terms only really found one outlet locally to me and mow direct online so any one know and other places to recommend would be appreciated

I have a general idea on costing due to what my dad currently pays
but any advice welcome planning on charging per a garden and not per hour

Many thanks Phil

If you're buying your own equipment make sure you have back ups. Nothings worse than your lawn mower breaking down and letting a customer down early on. You'll also have to factor in servicing costs of your equipment.

    Hi Phil,

Best of luck with the new business, there are many on the site who will offer a helping hand.

There was a forum discussion just recently about starting up:

    Setting up as a gardener

Here is a thread on getting your first customers and ideas on promoting your business.

Also on the front page of the site, in the left hand column a number of articles under the heading Featured Business Article might prove helpful.

The search tool, top right hand corner, is also very useful.

    Hope this helps,
    Craig
