Husqvarna Chainsaw Tool-less tensioner problems Anyone else?

I boughta new Husqvarna 445e chainsaw last year, which has a tool-less chain tensioner. Basically a large knob thats supposed to lock into place when the adjustment has been done. Despite doing everything as per the manual i frequently find the knob works loose, even when the machine is running at idling speed, resulting in the chain becoming loose. On several occasions it has come so loose whilst working that the chain has slipped off of the bar, obviously dangerous.

I think its a design flaw and ive just gone back initially to the supplier to see what they come up with. It would be really handy to know if anyone else has had similar problems, as i belive this mechanism is used across quite a range of their smaller saws

    Roybi have same sort of thing. took it back after cutting down a tree. will never buy anything with such a mechanism again

    on the stihl ive had for 4 years now , you have to have it very tight... im used to it now but it did take 1 or 2 goes of removing. cleaning to see how it works, with cogs , slightly eleptical shape to tighten the mechanism -therefore the chain to the bar,, or by moving / pulling the bar out to make effect.

    no idea if these are the same , but stihl do it on a wider range now.

    had it on my stihl; one that got nicked. never had a problem, but this one is ridiculous
