Great video Phil. I've seen that process in the flesh on countless occasions but it never fails to interest me.
Here's a little story for a Friday evening! I carried out this procedure a good few years back. We a Random Yorkstone and red brick courtyard to build and at the time our local cemetery was levelling some old Victorian grave beds and grassing the area over. Each grave had a massive 6'6" x 3' Yorkstone slab base, 4" to 5" thick. Criminaly, they were lifting the slabs up in the jaws of a JCB to break them up and then carting them down to the tip!! Couldn't stand it, so a few of beers I had some whole slabs trundled round to my place, where I cut the down and split them in half with bolster chisels. Very satisfying!
25 years later I still have a whole one in my garage, which is sandstone and wont split - am running out of years to find a use for it!
