At least once a week. I bought a load of autoglym pro stuff from eBay. Much cheaper than halfords or local motor factors.

Now wash and dry weekly and fortnightly wash rinse and quick wax, bumper gel

Monthly jet out wheel arches and more thorough detail. Well worth the 8 hours a month and £150 a year in chemicals

Never do it myself anymore too much hassle!
I take it to the local hand car wash every Sunday £7 well spent they even put tyre dressing on. It's saves me 2 hours a week!

Wow £7? My local place want £20 for just a basic job and they are awful!!!

Yes it's great you get 4-5 guys climbing all over the truck and it's pre washed foam wax stuff washed by hand rinsed and dried. They open all the doors and wipe the sills down tyre dress and give you a air freshener. It takes about 15 minutes. It's only £5 for cars.

probably doesn't help that most of them aren't able to reach the top of the van!

Its not the time issues its the fact that they aren't very good here and want far to much for what they do! The only thing I don't do is the air freshener but I do everything else.

I normally get one of the boys to help and he is always cleaning his car

The quickness is s bonus. Your way is far too expensive. The £20 wash here includes hoovering the inside and the inside of the windows and cleaning the seats that takes about an hour. They are cheap because the setup is brilliant and with 8-9 guys they get through about 100 cats an hour I think. Even if you are at the back of the q you are out again within 1/2 an hour or so that's 2 qs of 20 or more cars. It's a really big site with everything setup perfectly

100 is too many it's probably more like 60 but you get the picture

I always washed and cleaned our vehicles myself - and we had 7 vans/trucks. Not weekly though.

I was a car cleaner from the age of 13 (after school and Saturdays) until I was 16, so learnt a few techniques.

I give the wheel arches a rinse out after each night of gritting. Otherwise roughly weekly depending on weather etc. Don't like to let it get to dirty but as I say this my van is pretty filthy and will be getting a wash tomorrow before work!
