    About 15 years ago when I was working for the council we would cut loads of hedges like this on the back of a pick up truck. It was a really good way of getting 2 hour dinner breaks.

    I have seen this done by contractors (several years in a row on the same hedge) standing on the roof of a Transit van. One man is cutting whilst the driver is gently feathering the clutch in the truck to keep it slowly moving along the road.

    The chap cutting would have easily broken bones if the guy in the truck had been jerky using the clutch or braked without warning,

    Unbelievable and no doubt they have a very good price to cut the hedge without any consideration to their safety or that of their employees.
