  • or is it just me?

  • its just you robin ;)

  • I tried the 'if you can't beat them join them' approach and my girlfriend came and worked with me for a couple of days. Now she sees why I fall asleep at 10pm regularly!

  • I've always wanted to do that Andy! However my wife does help me with my 'indoor plant round' which we carry out every other Saturday morning. She also looks after the books which is a great help. After 40 years, I still get moaned at about my boots, wet gear hanging around the house and of course being tired in the evenings!

  • PRO
In the interests of public awareness, exactly WHAT 'few freebies' does she get apart for her garden tended...? :-))

Be careful how you answer as you could be setting unrealistic expectations for us all......

Your on your own there so far.

My girlfriend is happy for me being a gardener, of course she gets a few freebees and her garden tended to free of charge. lol. It also helps that the job keeps me in good shape.

As to falling asleep at 10pm Andy.. that's normal isn't it ? (except on a Saturday night of course)

  • You're spot on there Kenneth - I can just about handle Match of the Day on a Sat - what a roller coaster lifestyle when you are on the higher side of 40!

  • so only one is married here ?

  • it is by choice :)

im always working around the weather, don't want to let clients down so try and be available as much as possible so find it hard to plan / divide myself. ive spent 10 years doing this and it pays my bills/mortgage - im in control and never been out of work in 10 years.. its my security ,that is why i went self-employed.

  • There is actually a semi serious side here. Gardening can be a rather solitary life, unlike working in an office or factory and as almost 20% of marrieds met at work, unless you went out of your way to have a good social life, your chances of getting hitched were greatly reduced. HOWEVER the internet rides to the rescue of the sad and lonely gardeners, with countless dating sites and now there is no excuse for not finding the woman/man of your dreams!
