  • One for work, same one for home, would rather cut the grass at the Nursery than at home.

Having said that, will always do the grass at home once a month, if it needs it or not.

Hate, hate, hate cutting grass, well apart from pruning Stpia tenuissima, Festuca glauca.
  • I see a trend, one for work , same for home.
  • please
  • 7 miranda .... horses for courses and saves moving the blighters around

keiran has 7 too. looking at reducing to 2/3 but selling them wont pay for a big van !!
  • 2 Hayter 56s and 1 Flymo for some grass banks that I do, and a Hayterette for rough stuff, but havent used it in 5 years, I buy a new 56 every year, the Flymo is only used on 1 job, albeit a quite well paid weekly one.
  • JD Mulch 21" for some small commercial sites where mulching saves a lot of time
Etesia Pro56 for big clearances, really fills bag with leaves or long grass so does a v quick job
Masport 22" roller for most domestic gardens, nice finish, but not good for long wet grass
Flymo 20" for emergencies/breakdowns, it will get the grass cut if not perfectly, definitely shorter!
36" ferris for large commercial and industrial sites, saves a lot of time.

I wouldn't like to be without any of these as they all have specific and very handy uses.
  • i have the same newer reycycler Toro . does it cut reasonably thick/long grass easy?

as for actual work use ive got an old toro for 22" side discharge/mulch, 19" and 21" viking rear roller. at my dads theres also a alko easy mow 18" with honda engine on that i use as a back up mower (and sometimes hide a week after ive filled his lawn with fertiliser, he chucks a fit as his grass grows like mad as soon as it gets a bit of nitro).

i used to have a few old mowers that i had been given as non runners and have got going and then given them away, my favourite was an old suffolk colt was told it was siezed so lobbed it in back of van took home whipped the head off and found it was just bent valve. couple of wacks with the hammer and it was good as new
  • We have acquired more mowers now, the count is up to 10! Admittedly one is electric, an old qualcast, soon for ebay and a qualcast panther push mower. I just seem to attract different mowers, The list is:
    1 x Jacobson 2 stroke side discharge
    1x stiga multiclip rental
    1x hayter harrier 41
    1 x honda hr184 , i think that's what its called any way.
    1x yard king 18 " roller thing
1 x red thing from a diy shed we dont actually use just have cluttering space.
1 x allen national, soon for sale once serviced and sharpened.
    1 x efco 3 in 1 18 inch thing.
    1 x qualcast panther
    1 x electric qualcast

As you can tell Im not into all of them but the more or less all serve some sort of purpose.

  • 2 a Honda powered Flymo and a Honda 21" HRD rear roller rotary. I did also have a Brill Razor cut when I first started for smaller lawns, it was a good mower but I didn't use it enough as all my work demanded powered mowers, so sold it on.
