How invasive species can destroy an ecosystem

I posted this in the water features group earlier in the week but it got a bit buried.

Asian silver carp - which were being used to cleanse waste water treatment plants - escaped into the rivers and canals of Illinois when floods rose above their holding ponds.

The problem has become so bad that billions of dollars will have to be spent to stop the carp reaching the Great Lakes.
