Does a grower (a professional/commercial scale grower) renew his compost at every season? If not how often? mainly when using peat based compost. I know can understand that this depends on the type of crop but I need to get an average figure only.

  • Normally once potted in pot, usually 2-3 litre, they tend to stay in the same compost until sold.

    Most Nurseries would only seek to produce what they can sell in that year, sometimes it's pretty hard to guess!

    Any additional feeding is usually done through CRF, and top dressing.
