A customer has a 2 acre paddock with an ever increasing problem of these weeds, of which ragwort is poisonous to horses.

Spraying the whole paddock to kill everything off and starting again doesn't sound ideal, particularly as ragwort is biennial, so the seed is already there in the ground to pop up next year.

I'm hoping someone has had long lasting success with this problem.

Any suggestions please.

Use a rag rooter for the ragwort but realistically it needs a selective spray such as polo using a boom spray bar on a ideally a quad or speak to  a local farmer if access is not a problem. The best time to get control has passed as when they are small and in the  rosette stage and wide and low rather than upright they take less to kill off.

Not a problem - as already mentioned Headland Polo is good - even better with an adjuvant. However control at the right growth stage is critical - small rossette stage it zaps it pretty well - how long is the grass currently?

Spraying flowering ragwort is in my opinion pointless and you are better digging it up with a rag fork.

Polo should be pretty strong on the other weeds mentioned too as its (from memory) a 24D and MCPA blend.

I have 12 acres managed grassland of my own management for our livestock and hay crop so understand what a pain ragwort can be - you will need to be persistent with spraying at correct intervals for a few years to rid yourself of 99% of it though.

Cheers Adam, I shall spray and pray, and do the same the following years.

As the others have said - ragwort cannot be sprayed with any success beyond the rosette stage. You could top the field very low and wait for fresh regrowth then spray but ragwort can mature even when cut - and 'one years seeding = seven years weeding' as the saying goes ...so it would need to be collected up.
Cats Ear & Bristly Ox-tongue respond best to Mecoprop & dicamba mix..Mircam Plus which we have in stock. Polo is a brilliant all-rounder and may control those weeds too in addition to ragwort but I'd be adding an adjuvant to help it work - Solar plus or Validate would be best
