Coincidentally mine is doing the same. Typically a new belt or adjusting a cable would sort that but there is also th hydrostatic oil/pumpy thing to consider perhaps?
Tighten the variable speed cable just below the orange handle. Takes a little fiddling to find the sweet spot.
My 436 was like that I took it to my mower mechanic they did some adjustments now it's fine ...
If you've just bought it take it back under warranty. If it's an old second hand thing go and buy a new one. In the grand scheme of things a new mower pays for itself in a week I find so they are cheap in comparison.

I brought it online. I know, I know, should buy from you local dealer but nobody within an hour of me sells hondas and I was recommended it on here so brought online.
I will look to adjusting the cable as honey badger said. Hope it is fairly straightforward.
