  • You'll need a high lift blade for better collection and turn the mower up. They are all tuned down for regulations

  • Easy to use just a simple mower. I usually buy older mowers the gears last longer on the roller ones

    • Thanks Sam, having spoke to my dealer, who sells them and is multi franchise and tells the truth gone off the idea as he says water/dirt ingress to the splined roller along with gearbox issues is an issue resulting in problems at around the 2yr old mark.

Reason I asked as am in advancing years and using a Hayter 56 pro which has been utterly reliable   yes not brill in the wet even turned up but am just finding it too much of a mawl , too heavy . Only use it one 2000 sq mt job so was looking for 22 inch bbc, the bulk of the job is in one big area of around 1600 sq mts and it does leave a fantastic finish . Did'nt want to go down to 19 inch and have looked at the Masport 22 inch but did not like the bag arrangement, now looking at the Cobra 21 inch domestic which is cheap for a reason and only around 40 kg no bbc on either don't know whether to take a punt on the Cobra and accept it's going to break!

      • To be honest every roller mower is the same now that's why I buy old they last about 3yrs but only cost £300ish.

        • Forgot to say I had the cobra pro 21inch and the drive only lasted 18 months £400 to fix.

The weibang comes with a 5yr domestic warranty I have the 19inch 5yrs old and no issues yet but it is heavy

  • The new Danarm LM5360HXARD-PRO-HS supposed to have a improved new roller to improve reliabilty with better seals etc for longer life . Its probably be my next roller mower ,  I find smooth rollers easier to move around trees that the rippled / split hayter rollers , split rollers easier to turn around though.

I don't know why its in bold

    • The cobra had the same system as danarm I know when taken apart it looked great but the simple bit is it's a roller mower and in wet conditions soil/grass gets in which with the grease creates a grinding paste with small rust particles and that's what does the gearbox. I'll never buy new again for this reason. An old 1 for £300 is a better buy it's cheaper than replacing a gearbox. New is lovely but expensive and they just don't last long enough to be a good business investment
