Still going stron 18 months on, but I find it works better in bursts, hold the trigger in for a couple of seconds, if you let it get up to high revs it just makes a lot of noise but no impacts
Does anyone have view to the same query regarding rotavators?
depends how often you use the rotovator - the camon range has several different sizes, which one would you get most use out of? i usually hire a C8 when i need one.
i don't want to give up the storage space or spend a large chunk of money on something i don't use that often.
i mainly hire diggers & dumpers etc that i don't own - in other words bigger more expensive tools
We have had a few jobs lately (creating borders/veg patch/preparing ground for turf) that we have hired a rotavator for, which made me think about buying one. I always prefer to own stuff, as it is there when I need it... but then there is the storage, maintenance, capital cost etc and we are very small outfit. I think it was probably the C8 we had, Stuart, from Jewsons.
Hire is best if you cant afford new or near new equipment. Most second hand kit is secondhand for a reason and can spend more time being repaired then earning money.
only stuff i hire in is alarge stump grinder or excavator. I bought a bosch gs16 breaker 3 years ago. goes through concrete like no-ones business and is as good as the day i bought it. If you buy it then look after it and get it serviced. I tend to buy some kit second hand but im very very careful about where i buy it from. Bought a belle whacker plate 2 years ago, cost me 250 and is as good as gold and gets used every week. Its a balance between finacial investment, how soon youll get your moey back and how convenient it is to have it in the back of the van when you need it. I still build in fuel costs and wear and tear on every quote as well
I have bought a lot of the normal stuff like wacker, stihl saw etc, breaker is the only thing i havent. The screwfix one sounds good...
