  Drive suddenly stopped suggests it could be the belt has snapped or come off. Other than that it might be cable has snapped but i imagine you would have noticed straight away if that was the case.A problem with the gears transmitting drive to the wheels would usually appear on one side only.

  The local council guys here use push rovers seem bomb proof but they say the briggs engine can be a bitch to start. But they said the council tried ones with drive and the drive shat its self and died after a month. So they are back to push mowing

      Hi they used to use etesia so I think its down to price but i must say the rovers do seem cut well in any weather

  Thank you for your replies - I haven't sorted it yet, it's a 1.5hr round trip with no mower for 2-3 weeks, with no replacement, not great customer service personally, I'm sure it's a simple fix, I found a non rover you tube clip with a good guide.
  
  The finish is good, I wouldn't say excellent but I don't do many weekly short cuts, except a c grade wedding venue which comes up lovely on a weekly cut.
  
  Like any mulched too long or wet it won't mulch!!!

  Briggs and Screp em - You were bang on, the belt came off, due to going over a piece of wood, and making it ping off. Always good to have info on your kit to help on basic maintenance.
