It's a Hosta, can't tell which variety though. Ity's obviously dying back for the winter now, as it's a deciduous perennial.
Ahh thank you very much, helped alot. Iv just looked up Hosta in my reference book and it looks like a "Hosta ventricosa"?

That's slug damage as well, hostas are a slug's favourite food, so next year treat for them before they get full of holes. Organically, preferably, as slug pellets are horrible things.
Yes it did say in my book that they were slug magnets. Any ideas on what to use to stop them?
