Help!! Fence blown over>

I have a client whose fence has been blown over. The fence is 6'x6' closed timber panels slotted into concrete H posts, approx 25mtr long. the level of my clints garden is approx 5-6ft higher than the neighbouring site. The problem is that there was only approx 1-2ft of the higher ground behind the fence but during the recent heavy freeze and thaw the groundbecame unstable and collapsed. This fence was not fitted by me first day by the way. There is also a very closely planted bamboo to screen the fence and this is where the problem starts. What do i do.1. Remove the existing fence, dig new deeper holes and fit longer hpost with quite a big concrete haunch.2. Remove the existing fence, remove all the bamboo's and step the whole lot in 3-4ft but with this option there is a very high possibility of hitting old tree stumps that were grindedbelow lawn level and covered. Please help as its doing my head in trying to come up with solutions to this scenario.Thank's Jamie :)P.S. New to the site and love it, alot of very informative discussions here.

  • What is used as a retainer for the drop into the neighbours? Or is it just a slope?
If I have deciphered the situation correctly then there is clearly a need to look at boundary line and discussion with client, surely a new line 3 - 4' into garden is simply too much to lose and too much work.
Strutting is an option into the garden but not a good one aesthetically but if bamboo and other vegetation helps to screen may be more user friendly than the line.

    My sympathies,

    Pip
