What do you mean by steering unit?
Do you mean the control block or the ram that pushes or something else?
    • It's the unit at the bottom of the steering column......has 5 pipes running into it.

I know the one you mean. You may find its the same as a Ransomes parkway 2250 like mine. It's Parker hydraulics.
If you get a part number you should be able to cross check. If it's the same your options open as there are plenty of them about.

I never asked what is wrong with it!
  • Ok Richard...great, thanks. You can't keep it a straight line and been advised that is what has gone.

Stupid question but have you checked the hydro tank is filled to the correct level? I know they do this when oil is running low!
If it's not that and the unit is not cracked take it to a hydraulic repair company they may just be able to put new seals in it.

Send me an email I've had a chat with my mate. It's 99% not the steering unit.
Too much to write on here!
