one is a hayter 56 pro silver - only a year old. One is wo years old. Both belt driven I believe. Both of them have the adjusting mechanism on the cable but it seems to do sweet fa
Check underneath the mower to see if the aluminium bracket the holds the gear box and the belt pulleys isn't broken. I have two Hayter Harrier 48 pros and this is a re-occuring problem. The propulsion gets worse and worse and I end up having to push the mower about. The aluminium bracket on the mowers is not strong enough to cope when the mowers are being moved in the trailer, esp on the roads round here.
Have had this problem this year also. New belts and it pulls like a train!
Hayters have always suffered withi this.
Maybe it needs a new drive cable?
