Hayter 19 cut !!??

Used the hayter 48 today so called 19 inch cut ?? not used for a bit as being using viking 650 19 inch cut as well, after a couple of lawn cuts I thought the stripes dont seen as wide as the viking does, hmm ?? Then looked at them both and realised the hayter as a 16 inch roller!! Viking 21 inch roller, So you're only getting a 16 inch cut!! If that makes sense ?? Called in to my local mower shop today for oil, and mentioned it to him and he said well I never knew that!! Anyone else realised it ?? Sold me 56 just wondering what size rollers on them, as they state 22 inch cut lol...

    I suppose the roller doesn't have to be the same as the width of cut... makes sense though I know.

    I am going to measure the blade of our before it goes out this morning. Cant believe they would be allowed to sell a mower that cuts less than stated!

    The rollers never extend to the full width of cut on Honda mowers. The front wheels are usually just outside of the ends of the roller and so extend the stripe. The width of cut stated by manufacturers will be the blade length not the width of the roller or width of the machine. 48cm is just short of 19". Measure the blade.

    Yes the blade is 19 but the roller governs you to the stripe, most people would think buying a 19 inch cut would produce a 19 inch stripe in my opinion ?? Just made me laugh when i noticed, because when I brought it I was up dating from a 16 4 wheeler thinking I was getting a 19 cut/stripe I.e faster ground cover lol..
