i do not think the basic cutting system has changed, more the materials and adding a engin insted of having a donky (or a apprentice) pull it about
I wonder if we’ll ever see the redefinition of a what a mower is in our lifetime?
Could we see laser cutting mowers - no ICE, battery powered, no blade spinning a 3k rpm, minimal noise, perfect grass leaf cuts, quiet fan collection etc...

I guess robots are going to play a large part from now on in. Commercially Airports and Airfields are the perfect places for these! Its funny how they have spent the last 20 years developing operator comfort now manufactures will spend the next 20 years developing operaterless options!
