Hand tools for Every days jobs

T think much as we talk about the best mowers and hedge cutters on here etc , just as important about good hand tools and different makes and what people use.

I use most of the time the same brand ( Bulldog tools ) i find there very strong and last a long time, but do understand for good tools you pay the price for them , do you buy all your tools on line or shop around or can you recommed a good supplier

  • We buy online usually,Bulldog, for edging irons, spades and the like, but for small hand tools I recommend Burgon and Ball, their Japanese razor hoes and trowels are excellent quality.

  • Wolf Garten interchangeable stuff is well made and durable if space is at a premium in the van. I also like bull dog stuff, but my favourite for secateurs is Bahco, the ergonomic type as they fit my hand perfectly and i never get any hand strain, which was a common problem before i came across them.

  • Hi, Garden goodies is a pretty good site for tools, they stock lots of brands inc Bulldog and Wolf garten (nice light rakes but not amazingly strong). Felco I find best for pruners.

  • Agree with Anthony, love Wolf Garten stuff especially diferent length interchangeable shafts good for in the 'car boot' or the van. As for secateurs Darlac Professional Pruners I discovered 2 years ago are almost as good as Felco and excelent value about £16.00 if i remember, reach for them more than the felco's these days.
