Groups?

Hi

A quick question or two about the 'Groups' feature on the website.

Is it correct that google doesn't index the groups or that they come up on a google search?

I think they aren't used to their full potential as they just aren't looked at often enough.

Would it be possible to move them into the premium section as change them to a forum format?

    Hi Robbie

Google does index the groups's content, as long as a password wall isn't in place. For example the Hub content cannot be crawled by a search engine's spiders.

I agree that the groups aren't properly exploited but they do do take a lot of work to keep them moving.

It's not possible, at present, to move groups into the premium section or change them to a forum format. Having said that, Ning are bringing in a third generation platform whicj, I understand, will bring more options.

I have had discussions this week about completely moving LJN away from Ning and fully controlling how the site is used.
