Ground Elder

Where does this stuff come from? I have one garden where it has suddenly appeared. Not from a neighbours nor any surrounding beds, there isnt any any ground elder anywhere near. it's all turned up this Spring and is about 2sq metres, unfortunately it is in and around a couple of shrubs. I've dug up the spread, dug out the rhizones and it all is the same size and totally fresh and new? i'm the only guy that does anything in this garden and know it hasnt arrived via any compost. I think persistance will get rid but where could it have come from?

I have seen it introduced via unscreened topsoil and in soil conditioners Tony

I've got a client who has a keen gardening friend who gives her plants... the client is a good gardener and knows her Ground Elder roots - every time she takes one of her friends plants despite her best efforts it is introduced back into her garden again....
