Grass Cutting 2026 Season

Have many started cutting lawns yet?

We went out on Monday March 2nd. I was slightly apprehensive about whether the ground would be too wet or if the grass would have grown enough to warrant a cut, but all absolutely great. Ground plenty firm enough and a good bit of growth on all lawns so far. So that's it for us, we're fully up and running for the new season. How is everyone else getting on?

  • hi yes done several 1st cuts already, especially those which didn't get a late cut in November, really needed it

    • We tend to finish cutting very early in November unless specifically asked not to, so all our lawns are really ready for a cut. Plus the weeds are starting and the flowers are beginning to bloom so plenty to do. It's good to be back to it

  • Gonna make a start this week had a day off on Thursday check all is running and ready for action even the 30yr old honda started 2nd pull they don't make them like that anymore, picked the iseki up too so all set to go next week although forecast looks a bit iffy. But the joy of iseki and etesia is I can keep going whatever the weather throws at us.

    • Very true great machines but heavy and c. Easy damage lawns if the ground is on the soft side

    • Absolutely, we're the same for wet weather. Get the right tools and good waterproofs and just carry on. Have a great season

  • Done a few first cuts this week, my own lawn (or whart is left of it, last Sat.) Far too wet, even for the Stihl battery mower on one of the four lawns, for one client. Firm enough everywhere else. But the Moss....... everywhere I look there is moss, my own lawn has never had any in it before but it's everywhere!

Most of our contracts run from 1st April, but the grass is ready to cut now. I've cut my personal lawns, but like other commenters on here, I cut in late November as well. Too wet from December and brought February though.

  • Done a couple of second cuts already this last week would you believe. It's almost as if the grass has a memory of last year's drought and is making up for it now plenty of moisture available

    • We've just finished our second week, so that's a full round of all customers now, and didn't have a single one we couldn't do. It's been a really good start here in the north west and now with nice sunny weather coming up this week it's a great time to be working
