For those 'into' Google Maps, most know you can create your own map under 'My Places' and place all your sites etc on the map with marker pins, colour code them and keep details in the notes box (similar to that being done for the LJN maps - Green waste, Suppliers etc)
But, did you know you can;
- Share that Map as a public map (available to everyone) or as a private (a URL that you can elect to make known). This is then available on your PC, tablet or smartphone
- Click a measuring 'hand' and compute liner distance or road distance in between any existing two Pins (ie your sites ...from Site A to Site B without further effort) ?
- Further, using the road distance option it will tell you best route according to your Map options, Fuel costs and even provide you with a printable route map. Very useful for costing or organising your routes.
Admittedly, a good SATNAV can also achieve this by downloaded waypoints or POI's, but try Google Maps - it's free and a useful way of keep your sites physically documented and available while out at work.
If anyone's not sure how to do or wants further guidance, pop a message up and I'll try to help
