A lot of the increase is down to component chemical pricing - and the cost of shipping it in either component form or as a finished product from overseas.
As with many products over 60% of the GLOBAL glyp supply comes from China and steep rises in shipping have badly impacted the final cost too.
Add to that Bayer Crop Science issued a statement in Farmers Weekly mid Feb stating that there were serious difficulties in the glyphosate supply chain due to a 'mechanical failure' at a manufacturing plant.
Unfortunately its going to knock on in all sectors - imagine how much a 1000 litre IBC of glyphosate is now to fill a farm crop sprayer!
Expect a steep rise in produce prices from farms - and that's without the increase in costs of fertiliser.
I was ordering stock in January and noticed round up pro which I use went from £55 to £95 I called the surplierr and he said storms have reackted a glyphosate factory in the USA pushing prices up
even the cheap stuff as gone up £20 a bottle I looked on eBay straight away and brought 3 x 5ltr for £55 each round up....
I had exactly the same shock when I ordered 20L of AlgoClear Pro - its now around £300, last year £150
These cleaning products are highly expensive. Google DDAC, this is the active ingredient on most of these products, you'll find it much cheaper, and better to use 😉
