Hi All

hopefully you are all staying dry!

Just a quick question to anyone that knows we have a client wanting to put a gate on the top of a steep flight of steps, to stop their young child from falling. The walls to either side are only 500mm high, the client want the gate also at 500mm high to match the walls.

We pointed out there wouldn't really much point in having a gate there as it would probably be more dangerous as it will catapault the littleun onto their head instead when they go over top.

We mentioned going for picket fencing to effectively make the wall higher and a gate no lower that 1100mm

Can anyone confirm my thoughts please? presumably the lowest gate height is 1100mm on top of steps

Any thoughts would be much appreciated as usual!

Thanks

Graham

    Hi Graham

"The walls to either side are only 500mm high, the client want the gate also at 50mm high to match the walls."

I think you meant  to say 'the client want the gate also at 50mm high to match the walls.'

Would you like me to edit the original to save any confusion?

The walls are currently 500mm and they want a gate of 500mm

      Great Spot!
