there are many plants in the uk which come under the poisonous / dangerous clasification but most really are down to the reaction they cause some people when they come in contact with the sap's as there more corstic on fair to sensitive skins, this isn't always the case for everyone
back in my early days i found i had a high tolorence to almost all plants and had zero reaction to saps or spikes etc however i suffer from heyfeaver and grass is my allergen so when mowing i would end up with red raw arms etc.
go figure that i was a landscaper & gardener from school / worked on farms weekends while at school and now specialise in all things etesia mowers, no sense me.
there is a lot of poisonous plants some of wich are quite common. the Alnwick garden at Alnwick castle has a fenced off area of poisnous plants
If most people ate objects of their work they'd get sick... try not to do that and you're generally ok! PPE helps stop you touching things that really are that bad.
The most dangerous aspect of gardening is driving between jobs, and using tools improperly.
