gabion wall baskets

Has anybody used gabion wall baskets as a wall to reduce noise on a site?

im looking at a site close to a main road, where one option is to replace the existing fence with a gabion wall. having read various advice on line it would seem a good option, but i would like to know it actually works!

  • Not used them for sound proofing but put them in some projects years ago in my architecture days.

In theory the density and random surface shape would do an excellent job. I would make the road side as random and rough at is possible without looking messsy this would allow the sound to bounce around and be dissipated in the rock.
