fridge settings

Im trying to find out how to get the coldest setting on my fridge, it goes from 1-5 but im not sure wether 1 is the coldest setting or just the lowest (least cold), i currently have it at 3 but i bought 2litres of milk the other day and had to throw most of it out because it went off. Anyone know?

lol Chris, that beats "which mower" any day of the week. 3 is about the right setting for most fridges, is it working as it should

  • PRO

one is the least and 5 is the coldest

  • 5 is the coldest. are you going to put plants in it ?

  • no its not as cold as i would like, i dont have a freezer so i want to keep the food for as long as possible.

if the fridge is too cold you will start to see a build up of ice hence why 3 is the right setting when its working correctly that is

ha ha I had to re read your answer 3 times

your actually right in what your saying but with all the fridges we have owned over the years if you change the setting from 3 to 5 which has happened by mistake when something has knocked the dial the fridge will start to ice up from the top down in a few days and if you have it set to 1 then your milk will go off hence why the middle setting of 3 always seem to work the best :)

If 1 is too warm and 5 is too cold and 3 is the optimum setting - why have 5 settings and not just one..that is 3? Which should be renamed as 1!

Is the Fridge thermostat controller knob a step too far?

So. Mick, which is the best fridge?

It needs to store beer, usable in all conditions (esp when hot) for all foods, have front access. 4 hi-lift shelves, Ideally a japanese compressor and be usable by Contractors in our Unit......oh and mustn't block when it's wet inside...:D
