  • They are middle men, customer contacts them they charge the customer and they not the customer pays you. The reviews on Trustpilot are generally positive but these are from customers who seem to be paying £20 hr so they are going to be happy at that rate ! From a negative review from a gardener they appear to pay their gardeners £13 hr which is nt much more than National Minimum Wage which after you have paid tax and national insurance and fuel etc will.leave hardly any profit, depends how desperate you are to lose money!

The gardeners appear to be committed to delivering excellent results .

I can understand the ease of transition aspect if you don't enjoy having to go see jobs and work out quotes with on going commitments and have to deal with  customers mithering , invoicing etc if you just want occasional work .

Not sure how the gardener is matched to the job spec though if it's a job out of their depth

What's to stop the customer poaching the gardener or offering them extra work at full rate if both parties get along  .

Pro's and con's it won't suit everyone but could benefit others .

      • Be better off in Aldi at £12 hr

Logically you would if Aldi would give you a job , Plenty of benefits ,work place pension ,nice in winter if you don't mind 9 to 5 indoor work .

I would be pining for the outdoors all weathers 😊

  • When I started out, I looked on Google maps to see local houses and gardens then, around the time of the Chelsea Flower Show, delivered cards to the ones I liked the look of. All in 'nice' areas. People got in touch very quickly and then passed my name onto others and I never looked back.

    • Exactly - go & find the work, don't wait for it to find you.  I did the same years ago. Walked around the right neighbourhoods & made notes.  Each house got a personalised letter relating to their garden.  I got busy very quickly.

Much the same method for me - it worked well
