Find a trader

alright, maybe time to ask this question - click on find a trader and your get 131 thumbnails of pro members - i think i come 5th page.

it's not been optimised to actually find a trader.

should this be a priority for the site? is it in peoples experience, an easy thing to set up a search in the forum based on say a postcode proximity search?

    Good point Stuart, I just had a look. The way its set up doesnt work the way it should. You need to know the traders name to find them and thats not the way a search tool should work. It should be be able to search via entering a post code or city, town etc etc. Over to you Phil, maybe need to speak to your IT guys to make this happen. As it stands its useless to the paid members.

    If you go into advanced search, you can search by area or other criteria. Perhaps this should be available without going into advanced search?

    yeah, you're right on both points, but it's still a bit random though - i put in my nearest large town - that's london and nothing comes up :) glad to hear phil has it in hand

    The search can only find what's written on a member's profile.

    As you do not include London within your address it means you won't be picked up by LJN's search engine if anyone is searching for landscapers in London;-0)

    that would make it even more important for all paid members to go through there profile and make sure all there informations is correct now
