Fencing into 60 degree corner

I need to put up a close board feather edge fence with timber posts and arris rail, but the garden isn't square and i will have two runs of fencing meeting at approx 60degrees. Iv'e done a fair bit of fence work but never actually come up against this before.Bending the arris rail bracket (visually in my head) doesn't seem feasable for this much angle!

  • bump!
  • How about using notched posts to partly hide the joint then plane the sticking out bit of arris rail, hope this makes sense.
  • cut it all at the angle.

ie put another piece of fence in..........you will have to cut all pieces twice- each end.

or make it long/ways ie feather edge 6ft vertical not horizontal etc...
  • The cheats way to do it, and I admit I have done it in my more cut throat commercial days, is to use another post. Place two posts side by side (hell I have even cut the second post off and timberlocked it to the previous post!) and you can dictate the angle perfectly, it doesn't look too pretty but it works.

Of course now I just have my own morticer and I mortice the posts to what size, angle and shape I want.

Ahhh, arris rails.... I miss them since moving to Devon!
