Felco 13 parrs

Evening

My felco 13s are now around 11-12 years old, thumb catch lock is spinning and locking whilst using and sometimes material is making the blades separate in use and not cutting properly.  I've found a thumb catch latch replacement kit but I can only find blades (cutting and anvil ) and obviously springs. Any ideas what I need to stop that gap appearing? Or is it time to bag some new ones. These ones have sentimental value, so keen to repair them.

Thanks

Felco offer a service, you send them your felco's and they service and replace all parts that need replacing then post them back to you, I can't remember how much it costs, have a little google if your interested..

    • £25 for a full service

They did a really great job with my #7 that were given to me by a customer who couldn't use them anymore as they were too stiff.

Interested in having your trusty secateurs serviced? Servicing is offered by the UK Felco Distributor, Burton McCall.
    • Cheers Harry.

  • Don't be mean.................  11-12 years old, you deserve a nice new pair. You'll have to pay £25 to get them "serviced" but for another £25 you can get a new pair and still have the old ones as a spare.

    • Usually i lose secateurs before I get too emotionally attached to them... breaks your heart but sometimes a new pair is in order and the lost ones are soon forgotten about

      • Touch wood, I never lose anything. Probably jinxed myself now haha

    • Haha, I now want to see how they'll be when they have been serviced, spoken to the company that was recommended above and they'll do them for me for £25 and have said they'll come back like new.

      • It's the classic "Trigger's brush" scenario lol

        • I sent some back a few years ago abd could hardly tell them apart from my other new pair.

They even threw in a carbide stone FOC.

          Top service
