Feather edge board advice

I have just submitted a quote for removing a hedge and replacing with feather edge board. My only concern with the board is due to the fact that the hedge has a slight curve (the house is on a corner) and I'm not too sure how to replicate this with the feather edge board. It has been suggested for the curve, to use the metal brackets to secure the arris rails and then bend these to replicate the curve. Any further advice would be really useful. Thanks

  • There was a discussion re something similar fairly recently    https://landscapejuicenetwork.com/forum/topics/curved-fencing   ; .... might be helpful

    • Thanks, Graham.

      • Further to this post, I have now removed the hedge and posts. The issue I have is that the fence runs straight and then there is an angle of about 35 degrees. I haven't got the space to do a gradual curve. The only solution I have is to place two posts next to each other, one to finish the straight run and the second to start the run of the second section. Where these two posts meet, place a coupleof boards on them to allow for continuity. Does anyone have any better suggestions? Thanks.

        • You don't have to use the mortices. Just mitre the rails to fit the angle you want and screw them to a normal post. Or use metal brakets as suggested. Problem is, the more gradual you want the curve the more posts you will need. Just make sure the client is aware of the issues and extra costs involved, and ask them what they want.
