Excavator Ticket

We are based in South Yorkshire and I'm wanted to get formal qualifications for excavation work. I've got bags of experience with both 180 and 360 equipment. What's the best way to go about this, how much is it likely to cost, and any recommendations for places in the South Yorkshire/North Derbyshire area where I can do this.

Thanks

  • I was stopped at a recycling place where they use 360s it also gets used as a 360 / dumper training ground. One of the lads I know there said I could do a nvq 360 up and over 12 tonne for free!.It was some government scheme.

I took them up on the offer and now waiting for it to come in the post. It was a test I did and they was no training. I had to show that I could check the oil water and set the machine up, drive it to the other end of the site dig a trench 1 meter wide by 1 meter deep for 10 meters making sure it was level and tidy. then was told to fill it in and track it.They was also alot of paper work to do h&s stuff.

We have a 1.5 ton digger so I have experience on them.

I am not sure what site work I can do but make sure you do it in the biggest machine available. If I had used our machine the tester said i would only be able to use upto 12 ton

http://calderford.co.uk/ is where i did mine the fella who took me was very good and helps with the h&s stuff if in dout

For construction site work you will need to be trained and tested to CITB CPCS or ROLO. Standards. The CPCS is an NVQ and you get your RED learners card to start with. You then have two years to gain your BLUE ticket which last forever with traing day updates every 5 years. Not sure about the rules for ROLO as i had done the CPCS training. You dont need any of these to do work outside of construction sites, not even a training cert from an approved training company. I did mine with Sibbalds in west lothian.
