Etesia's Etesia's everywhere I go..

Just got back from France earlier and we spent time in Calais this afternoon before heading back on the Chunnel.

Walked around the Centre De Ville (which is a magnificant building if ever you been into the real Calais) and low and behold they had 3 landscape maintenance crews out working there

Each team had an Etesia Pro48 and a seperate guy on a MVE100. Finished job looked great, but what got me was their Etesia's were all Red & Yellow (must be the Wolfe influence in France?).

Couldn't resist the chance to to show off my "Franglaise", but the outcome was a big thumbs up for the mowers - they loved them.

My daugther just looked at me as if I was mad....perhaps I am ;-0)

So why don't more contractors in this country use them?

Is due to the lack of stripe?...

    ...the dealer network?...

or the cost of the machines themselves?

  • Personally i think they are just too expensive. I use Rover Pro cut 50's which give me 2 years trouble free mowing (3 days a week). I get them for around £500. For me to go and pay £2k for a pedestrian lawnmower i would be wanting at least 8 years out of it before things started going wrong, but i just dont think they would last that long.

  • We  run etesias along with various other stuff and yeah theyre ok but i cant see what all the fuss is about. They break and get dammaged just like any other lawnmower and they also suffer from bad design issues just like any other mower. Etesia also refuse to sell individual gearbox parts for some reason  so making you scrap a repairable machine. The only etesias i'd be interested in trying now are the pro53 or 124d, wouldnt be too interested in replacing any of the stuff ive allready owned.

I have also watched municipal gardeners at work whilst holidaying in france and they were running a pair of amazone profi hoppers .
