Etesia Hydro 80 problem

I have owned a second hand etesia hydro 80 mower for a couple of months now and used it for a few weeks.

I need to get to the oil dipstick etc but I cant for the life of me figure out how to get to it. I can see it and have taken the seat off and plastic cover off but the part that holds the seat cant be moved!

Where am I going wrong??

    If its the same as a etesia bahia there's 2 silver spring loaded L shaped plates in front of the battery you squeeze together which allow the assembly under the seat to swing up - they're no where near the engine
