Pro 51s are hydrostatic aren’t they?
Yes they are. It’s the drive gearbox I’m after replacing though, on the rear axle.
Belt and variator, no hydro.
I don’t know that much about the pro 51 but if it’s hydro and the pro 46 isn’t it’s not going to be the same. The pro 51 hasn’t got a gearbox as such but pump and motors (this is said with a general knowledge of hydro systems not this machine in particular!)
There is no pump etc Richard - it is heavy enough as it is :-)

anyway I can’t see that the wrong gearbox will fit as like you say they are bloody heavy

no hydrostatic drive is fitted to anything under 53cm cutting width
they use the same oil bath reducer box for both machines however the shaft / axle is the difference in length along with a hex shaft extension and vairiator pulley for those having vairiable speed so the short answer is no it will not fit directly,
it is possible to replace damaged items inside the transmission and you will find the parts list on our etesia.co.uk site
What kind of money is the hydro pump on the big wall behind. (The one with 2 wheel motors?) a mate has one with leaking main pump and said I can have it since he’s retired! I’ll find the model number when I get chance but it’s 7 years old and the biggest of the walk behinds I think

Thanks neal I’ll get back to you once I’ve had chance to go see him and it! Might be a while but it’s a cracking mower so would be a shame to lose it over a pump!
