I think insurance companies like to keep changes to renewal time. Just my thoughts
Hi Marc, it probably depends what type of work you're doing & who the clients are likely to be etc. A very rough guide for price is that it will be x2 what your standard policy was without employees - with insurers logic being that the risk is essentially doubled with two people instead of one.
However, you could always add an employee and then amend again when you no longer need the employee? You might then receive money back pro-rata?
If you used bonafide sub-contractors (i.e. pay an external firm who send any given employee to help on each day, using their own tools, materials and instruction etc) then you will not require employers' liability.
