Ego strimmer

Evening all.... I'm seriously considering getting an Ego Multi tool for next season however the reviews I have seen say that although on the hedgecutter the battery life is fine but when it comes to the strimmer and blower they just burn through the batteries very rapidly. Does anybody have any experience or own these tools / attachments and can advise me on battery life. Obviously i don't want to splash the cash then have to spend again on petrol equivalents just to get the jobs done. Many thanks in advance

  • Hi sean, I would agree that you will need two 4amp batterys daily two run this set up but the benefits and pros outweigh the cons for me and i personally would not go back to petrol equivalent again. This time of year im sure theres deals to be had to get free batterys with any purchases/units.

    • Many thanks for your advice Edward, i really appreciate it. I am pretty much sold on cordless ( mostly for the low vibes ) but it is good to hear from someone who is experienced with Ego... cheers.

I use 4 x 4amp batteries but on most days only use 2 with the strimmer and the blower and they last very well with hedge cutter upto an hour. So i would say the multi tool would be around the same.

    • Nice one Dave , much appreciated. I have read that the blowers don't have much grunt when it comes to the heavier stuff - wet leafs etc compared to the petrol ones - is that your experience?

The stand alone blower has a boost button which is very powerful and in my opinion is on a par with a petrol blower but it hammers the battery down to about 15 to 20mins

        • Thanks Dave - exactly the info I needed, appreciate your time mate
