Wow, they're fantastic. I don't have anyone to talk to but I want a set!
I just use decent ear defenders over in-ear headphones with my digital radio for most of the day, or with my phone for the music player if there's nothing on. With the little Pure DAB there's usually something to listen to between 4 extra and Planet Rock, it's the most essential piece of equipment on my van.
Always in one ear only though, it sounds silly but you really do hear more outside sounds that way for some reason. I use very good ear protection, but you still pick up some sounds from outside, such as changes in the sound of machinery, or the client shouting that your tea's ready. :-)
As I am only a poor gardener I managed to find these at Lidl, FM Ear Defenders with Aux input, Bass boost and built in microphone if you want to hear that tea is ready £25.00. Put these together with the Walki Talkie set with hands free kit, voice activated mic and your away £29.95
